The Alfred Carson Lodge in Bay Road, Claremont has been providing quality residential aged care since 1945. TPG were engaged to facilitate the approval of a redevelopment of the site, warranted by the age of the existing facility and the strong local demand for the services provided by Silver Chain Nursing, as evidenced by the Western Suburbs Regional Organisation of Councils Seniors' Needs Study 2002.
Given the residential character of the surrounding neighbourhood and strong community interest in the redevelopment, there was a need to maintain the amenity of the area while designing a facility to suit the needs of the residents. After extensive negotiations with the Town of Claremont, conditional approval was granted by Council in December 2006 for a new facility of 90 beds that will provide a high standard of care for residents of the facility. |
