Plans are currently being formulated to extend Centro Galleria to include another discount department store and specialty retail shops. This will lead to an exceedence of the floorspace limit prescribed in the Western Australian Planning Committee's Metropolitan Centres Policy for the Morley centre.
As a result, a Centre Plan is being prepared by TPG, which will examine Morley and the integration of the shopping centre with it, as a means of justifying the additional retail floorspace. A development application will then be lodged in accordance with the Centre Plan, when approved. |
